dc.description.abstract | Pre maturity is a certain condition of underdevelopment which affect infants who have spent less than 37 full weeks in the uterus. The main prevention method is to health educate pregnant mothers on the importance of clinical attendance and proper history taking and examination during pregnancy.
The purpose of the study was to investigate factors contributing to premature deliveries in Kisumu county.
The researcher used Kisumu county referral Hospital, the sample comprised of 30 respondents those with babies admitted in the new born unit due to pre maturity.
Descriptive analysis was done to describe the study sample, the result suggested that primigravida were most mothers with pre mature deliveries. The results also indicated that young mothers were more affected between the ages of 15-25 years, poor antenatal clinic attendance also predispose mothers to deliver pre mature babies. Primary data was collected using interviews.
Additionally unnamed mothers and primary level education has been associated with pre mature deliveries. | en_US |
