dc.description.abstractHealthcare services are very crucial during the prenatal period. Antenatal clinic plays a critical role in reducing maternal and child mortality during and after pregnancy. This usually happen by; identifying, monitoring and management of high-risk pregnancies, management of complication during pregnancy, monitoring of fetal wellbeing, immunization among other measures. This study aims at finding out the factors leading to low attendance of antenatal clinic at Kimilili subcounty hospital including the sociodemographic factors, socio-cultural factors and the health-related factors. The study will include 154 pregnant women enrolled at Kimilili subcounty hospital antenatal clinic selected using the simple random sampling method and questionnaires will be administered to all study participants. Data collected was analyzed using the statistical package for social science (SPSS) version 29.0, data summarized into measures of central tendency (mean, median and mode) and inferential statistics will be drawn and results presented in frequency tables, pie charts and graphs.
