This research investigated the impact of SCD on the socioeconomic status of patients visiting Kisumu county referral hospital in Kenya. The study analyzed the financial implications of managing SCD, including costs of medications, hospital visits, and related expenses. Additionally, it explored how SCD influences employment opportunities, educational attainment, and overall quality of life for patients. Data collection involved interviews and surveys with SCD patients at the hospital to understand their experiences and challenges. The study's findings provided valuable insights into the economic burdens faced by SCD patients and the implications on their socioeconomic status.
